Excellent in every way, recieved yesterday and have been watching it since.
Great coverage of the show of a day to remember with the return of the Vulcan in flight. MANY THANKS FROM CHRIS DOWNES, EX SCAMPTON VULCAN DAYS

Ordered the DVD at the Saturday Show, came today 24/9/08 which was quite impressive as its just been released.
Only problem is, not enough footage from Saturday which was glorious photography weather.
The Mirage 2000 was the two seater flying in dismal conditions from Sunday I assume, and NOT the single seater which flew in glorious sunshine, why did'nt you put the single seater on ! unforgivable !
Role demo is ok, but you did'nt get the explosions very well, I did better with my HD Camcorder at Southport.
and where was Sean Maffets commentry on the Vulcan display, it would have been nice to show the first public XH558 display as it happened.
and finally, Its ok including other shows if the weather is poor, like last year.
but this year the Saturday weather was great, if I buy a Waddington DVD thats what I want to see, not Biggin Hill .

Hi Phil
Some really interesting feedback there thanks very much. I'll try and give some justification for some of our decisions, but I'll start by saying that there are always limitations on what we can record at a show, despite our best efforts.
You're quite correct that for parts of Saturday, weather conditions were perfect for videography. The beautiful lighting and clouds during the Vulcan’s display provide a good example. I would say, though, that the same was true for Sunday. We used the Mirage’s display from Sunday as the weather conditions were even more dramatic. The dark storm clouds contrasting with the aircraft’s reheat (albeit a 2-seater) and the rain during the aircraft's landing was quite spectacular and a reminder for many of the downpours we all endured at the show.
We bring material together from a few events for the role demo as it’s simply not possible to record the whole spectacle at one display, without using an unviable number of camera crew. I’d be interested to see your explosions.
RE: Sean’s commentary. Our focus (by popular demand) is always to concentrate on the sound of the aircraft, possitioning our mics to avoid PA wherever possible. There is some PA audible during the Vulcan's display, in fact Clannad is quite clear, but that’s as far as I’d stray from 4 Olympus engines I'm afraid!

Hello Ian
Thanks for the response, I can see why you used the Sunday Mirage footage now, though I'd still like to see the single seater as I was busy taking stills of it.
Apologies if I sounded negative, you all did a great job and I know its not easy filming an event such as Waddington and you can't please everyone.
Heres a link to my Southport Stuff, and yes I missed the first one as well, (sorry to be the pot calling the kettle black).
Ill post my FlickR address if anyone wants to look at my stills
