Our highlights from the 22nd Sunderland International Airshow are introduced by Peter McNamara, Airshow Commentator.

A 60 seconds review of the flying introduces the first of our sea-side airshow of the season.

We then talk to Ian Sheeley, Flying Display Director about the Friday Evening Display; Guy Westgate in the Swift Glider, making a UK first with wing tip flares, is joined by Hawker Hunter Miss Demeanour and the RNLAF F-16.

RAF Falcons Commentator, Graham Liggins takes us through the team's display where a helmet cam to gives us a parachutist’s eye view.

Finally Sgt Richard Harley from the Royal Marines Commando Display Team explains the pirate scenario demonstrated on the Seaburn beach over the weekend.

For the 25th Airshow, I think the F22 Raptor, Avro Vulcan and C-17A Globemaster will be coming.

Superb at Sunderland as always. Hugely p'd to have missed the friday stuff and Miss Demeanour, but plenty of awesome flying to be had at the day events. Hard to say what fav's were such was the feast on offer, but how brave are those Breitling girls?!! Would love to know what will be in store for the 25th show, must have something big in the pipeline methinks.

Was at the airshow on the Friday evening and on Sunday. Had a great time. Ordered my DVD at the airshow and can't wait for it to arrive. Followed the airshow with a trip to Newcastle Airport on Monday 26th July for their 75th Anniversary. Got to see some aircraft rarely seen at Newcastle including, a British Airways 747 and an Emirates Boeing 777, the longest aircraft to have landed at the airport. Was great to see some of the attractions from the airshow still at the airport. The typhoon take-off was great - short run and near vertical climb.
