The Vulcan Effect [Blu-ray] [2009]

SKU: PTV-166B

Something quite extraordinary happened to the UK airshow circuit in 2009; jammed telephone lines, inundated web sites, capacity crowds, eyes skyward straining for a first glimpse of...., lumps in the throat, tears of joy, stunned silences as the subject of all this thunders onto the scene and four Bristol Siddley Olympus engines developing 60,000 lbs of thrust tear the sky apart.

Avro Vulcan XH558
is flying again!

PlanesTV cameras followed Vulcan to 20 locations in 2009 including continental Europe. Much of this was in clear and often spectacular weather, ideal for our High-definition powerful-lens cameras.
Exclusive access gets you behind the scenes with the crew, engineers and volunteers and our three in-cockpit cameras take you onboard for a unique view of the season finale at Southport.
For some it is pride in a British achievement, for others it’s a reminder of a critical time in our defence against nuclear destruction but for everyone it’s the sight, the sound and the feeling of all that power.
For the tens of thousands of ordinary people who dug deep into their pockets to see her fly it is a reward, a relief and a delight that millions will now also experience “The Vulcan Effect”.

Dear all,

I am very happy to report to you that I did receive the Blu-ray DVD of the Vulcan Effect and I am even more happy to inform you that this DVD is a must have for every Vulcan supporter!! Amazing high qualitiy footage coupled with very nice interviews. The DVD covers all airshow appearances in 2009 including the show that I attended in the Netherlands. I really enjoyed to see in the DVD some of the Vulcan Village volunteers and ofcourse the maintenance and flight crew members I met and spoke in the Vulcan Village at the Volkel airshow in June!

One advice to you all: BUY THIS DVD!!

Note: By doing this you do yourselves a big favor by purchasing a splendid DVD and in addition you support the Vulcan to the Sky trust who are in a desperate need for money! The 25 Pounds for the Blu-ray version is worth every penny!!!

Best regards,

Theo Bloemendal

Dear Adrian Campbell,
I regrett to inform you that my order 3288 for the Blu-ray DVD "The Vulcan Effect"still not has been delivered.
I was promised on December 30th, 2009 that the above DVD would be posted the same day.
Can You please inform me when I can expect my order?
Kind regards,
Theo Bloemendal

Sorry Theo - unfortunatly you are one of the few customers that got the DVD by mistake. Just a human error in the office at a busy time.

That's also the reason for delays in replying to emails (unfortunatly we do loose some in our spam filter and we know AOL filters out all of the e-mails we send) - the email sender gets the impression that someone at our end is sat waiting with all the time in the world to to research the question and reply. In practice, at this unusually busy time producing the newly released product and physically stuffing thousands of jiffy bags, the priority has to be getting the DVD into the post.

Then, on Dec 22, due the the weather conditions we had a 24 hour power failure on the old RAF airfield we are based at. This meant no computers, no access to any orders, enquiries and emails, no phones not even mobiles!

We really REALLY do try our best, but this is truly a great DVD and the Bluray version is jaw-droppingly clear. I guarantee you will love it.

I was also one of the unlucky guys that received the normal version of the DVD "The Vulcan Effect" instead of the ordered Blue-ray version. As I did not receive a reply on my e-mail I did get in contact by phone and the Blue-ray DVD will be shipped today. I watched some trailers of this DVD and they look very promising.
I hope that PlanesTV improves on two issues: shipping the right DVD to their customers and reply on customers e-mails.

I received my copy of The Vulcan Effect (Blu Ray) today. My excitement was more than tempered by the fact it only contains your sales pitch for The Airshows 2009. This is followed by the full page introducing The Vulcan Effect and gives the choices of 'Play - Chapters and Interactive' but there is nothing else on the disc! I have reported this to you by telephone.

I pre-ordered this on 11th of November. Despite you showing a release date of 4th of December, and some of your customers saying they have received the DVD version, I have still not received my BluRay copy. Do you have an update as to when I am likely to receive it?
Regards,
Bob Payne
