The Royal International Air Tattoo is the world's largest military airshow. This official DVD of the 2009 show, originally filmed in Broadcast Hi Definition, captures all the action from both days of the show. Using multiple ground cameras and in-cockpit cameras this DVD gets you closer to the action than ever before.
Stars of the show were the Vulcan and the first Air Tattoo appearance of a Fench Rafale B. All the displays from the show are featured including: 3 Boeing F18s, 2 Saab Gripens, Lockheed Martin F16, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Eurofighter Typhoon, BAE Hawk, Frecce Tricolori, The Army Air Corps Blue Eagles and an amazing Royal Navy flypast to celebrate 100 years of naval aviation.
There are also stunning in-cockpit minicam sequences from the United States Air Force Boeing B52, Finnish Air Force F18, Alenia C27 Spartan, Royal Air Force Red Arrows, Royal New Zealand Air Force Boeing 757, Breitling Jets, Royal Air Force Chinook and the French Army TBM 700.
There are interviews with the pilots, full start-up sequences as well as "behind the scenes" footage of the show itself.
Collectors Edition Extras:
- Arrivals
- Follow Me
- Practice displays
- Departures
- Archive
- Minicams

Wow I don't regret to have bought the Collectors Edition along with the Vulcan Returns DVD. What a beautiful piece of DVDs and tons of superb aircraft with a well made commentary etc.
Can't wait for the RAF Leuchars Airshow DVD.

We received delivery of the £16.95 version last Tuesday and the double DVD Collector's Edition last Friday. All should have gone out now.
It was not PlanesTV that made the programme and we were only able to pass on the producer's declared delivery dates. 4 months is a long time but it is unfair of us to "call the kettle black" because we have had our fair share of late deliveries over our 20 years.
The main reason we give a free DVD when people place advance orders is to sweeten the pill of paying in advance and waiting.
All that said these DVD's are fantastic. The show weather was perfect for filming; clear air, dramatic clouds and moisture that delivered some dramatic vortices. The scale of the event and huge DVD sales potential permitted a big production effort (which obviously took time) not least the number of in-cockpit minicams.
Highly recommended.
