RAF Interactive 1 [DVD]

Featuring stunning airshow displays from the Tutor, Merlin and Typhoon, RAF Interactive 1 puts you in the hot seat. Each display is interactive, allowing the viewer to switch between ground and in-cockpit views of the displays. There’s also a second soundtrack featuring on-board communications and pilot commentary. Listen and watch from the cockpit as the Tutor pilot flies flick roles, the Merlin pushes 90 degree nose overs and the Typhoon goes vertical after a near supersonic flypast!

Team Merlin

The Merlin HC Mk3 is a new generation day and night operational multi-role helicopter which has greatly augmented the RAF's existing helicopter fleet. Merlin now makes up a vital part of the Joint Helicopter Command (JHC) alongside its RAF counterparts, the Puma and the Chinook.

During the display you can choose to watch from the ground or over the pilots shoulder! You can also listen into the crew and computer communication.

Tutor

The Grob 115E Tutor was made and equipped especially for the RAF. The aircraft is 96% Carbon fibre and of Semi-monocoque construction and is fully aerobatic. Powered by a single 180hp Textron-Lycoming engine, it has accommodation for 2 crew members sitting side by side and is used for Elementary Flying Training, University Air Squadron and Air Experience flying.

During the display you can watch from the ground or from a cockpit minicam facing the pilot. You can also switch to a second soundtrack where the pilot will talk you through his manoeuvres.

Typhoon

The Typhoon is an agile, single seat, multi-role aircraft optimised for high altitude supersonic air combat but also capable of operating at much lower levels in the air-to-ground roles. It is built by a four-nation consortium comprised of companies from the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain. The state-of-the art aircraft is set to be the RAF's major front-line type for many years to come, replacing the RAF's Tornado F3 fighters and Jaguar fighter-bombers in front-line service.

During the Typhoon's stunning display routine you can switch between the ground view or the view from 2 in-cockpit minicams. Switch to the second soundtrack to hear the onboard computer and pilot communicate throughout the display.
