Set up by Adrian Campbell in 1989, PlanesTV (formerly Aviation Action) is a UK based production company specialising in aviation. We’ve produced over 130 programs, recorded over 300 aircraft types and amassed an archive of thousands of hours of high quality aviation video footage.

Born out of our own passion for aviation, PlanesTV’s style has been to record and present aviation in its purest form. Whether it’s recording clear stereo sound of heavy metal military action, getting in close to aerobatic displays with powerful telephoto lenses or driving through the night to record Mirage IVPs, we get the shots you want to see!

The Team

Adrian Campbell

Marketing Director

Adrian’s passion for aviation began with Airfix kits, Air Ace comics and fifties airshows and expanded with a new hobby of cine and then still photography.

A golden handshake from his marketing job in 1988 coincided with advances in video technology and was the cue to start making commercial airshow videos. Fellow enthusiasts loved the programmes based on a particular skill recording aircraft in flight and an emphasis on action and location sound rather than interviews, narration and music.

Iain Campbell

Production Director

Adrian’s son Iain graduated from university in 2007 with a business management degree. He’s worked for the company from an early age and amassed a wealth of camera and production experience.

Iain joined PlanesTV full time in the summer of 2007 and oversees the production of PlanesTV's DVD programs and development of our online video catalogue.

Iain has an enthusiastic appreciation of all things aviation having spent much time during his childhood at airshows in the UK, Europe and USA.

David Kitchen

Operations Director

David joined PlanesTV in 2008. He is a Professional Member of the British Computer Society and brings his experience and knowledge of the web development to help deliver our new video on demand service.
