Elvington, home of the Yorkshire Air Museum and host to the annual Yorkshire Airshow, is a former RAF World War 2 bomber station. It's a good venue for spectators with the crowd line close to the runway, a crowd side operational area and a bonus for photographers the sun is behind you.

The RAF was out in force in glorious weather for the Waddington 2006 show. As a former bomber and now reconnaissance base it was appropriate to debut the new Sentinal R1, but also to pay a final tribute to the retiring Canberra. Navy types, past and present, UK and foreign featured at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton’s 2006 “Air Day”. The RAF supported strongly and the Typhoon appeared for the first time.

It is the Commando Assault finale that Yeovilton is famous for and the Sea Kings, Lynx, Merlins, Harriers, Hawks, Falcons and troops were out in force with explosive effect!
