RAF Cranwell

On September 15th 1990 the RAF launched 'Flypast', the biggest formation seen in British skies since the end of WWII. A stream of 168 aircraft in 7 formations overflew Buckingham Palace to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Our cameras capture the action, images and atmosphere from the mass briefing at Cranwell, the practices and the big day itself over Buckingham Palace with material from 7 of the mounting bases too.
