MoD Boscombe Down

The historic and photogenic venue of the Royal Aircraft Establishment of Boscombe Down in Wiltshire was a magnificent setting to hold the definitive Battle of Britain 50th Anniversary Airshow.The massive 3.5 hour video features over 30 aircraft at length including 6 display teams, the Battle of Britain 'set piece' and Phantom Scramble. More and even rarer aircraft feature departing from the static display after the show.

This short video makes a refreshing change from the UK displays having been drawn from material sent to us by an aircraft enthusiast living in New Zealand. It is not HiFi stereo and the technical quality is a generation below our other videos but the rare sight of a Flair Utility and Royal New Zealand Air Force Skyhawk more than make up.

A USAF base, Mildenhall always delivers something special and this year proved to be a vintage one with a Victor in the flying display, and a notable demonstration by FAA Sea Harriers wish FRADU Hunters. A spirited display by a B52 pretending to be an A10 will be lasting memory to many.
