The Bear and Backfire epitomise the dark threat that the West lived with for forty years whilst the Russian Knights team with six Flankers and the Rolls Royce powered Tu 204 herald a new era of friendship and co-operation.

Fighter Meet is a 2 day event held in May at the former Battle of Britain airfield of North Weald in Essex.

Its reputation has grown to be one of teh foremost events in the aviation calendar and Fighter Meet '94 had the honour of being chosen as the RAF's official D-Day airshow.

Here it is again - Britain's Greatest Air Show - Farnborough! Every two years the premier aerospace manufacturers of the world gather to display the very latest in their technological achievements - the most exciting being tested in the air before upwards of 100,000 spectators.

The Royal Naval Air Stations at Yeovilton and Culdrose are the two biggest in the UK and they each out on a massive show to thousands of visitors in 1994.

The brand new Sea Harrier FRS 2 launches from Yeovilton's 'ski jump' and the Italian Tornado does nearly the same from a hard runway! Indeed, the Italians were out in force at these events with rare and spectacular displays by the new Avanti, G222, MB339 and iced by the Frecce Tricolori, arguably the world's best national aerobatic team.

The '95 Biggin Hill International Air Fair witnessed one of the biggest gatherings of Russian aircraft ever to appear in the West. The astonishing Russian Test Pilots team and their state-of-the-art Sukhoi Su27 "Flankers" contrasted with the nine Yak 52's of the Red Stars Racing team. The Su29 duo tore up to aerobatic rule book whilst the Mig 29 'Fulcrum' simply tore the sky apart.
