P38 Lightning

Historic Airshow presents ten highlights from 6 of the UK's premier events in 190 minute feast of spectacular action spanning the whole spectrum and history of powered flight from priceless biplane great to retired military jets.

The all action style will bring hours of pleasure to any aircraft enthusiast.

The Shuttleworth Collection is unique in the fact that their museum exhibits fly. The Collection's aeroplanes currently span from the beginning of aviation history to teh Second World War.That's why airshows at Old Warden are particularly special, and on a hot and sunny day on June 6th 1993 the COllection's aeroplanes were joined by many other aircraft, includingthe P40 Kittyhawk, P38 Lightning and the Messerschmitt Me 109G - three rare airshow performers.With record crowds spectating we were treated to a truly vintage event.

The home of the RAF's Aerospace Museum commemorated the UK arrival of the USAF 50 years ago and welcomed "Diamond Lil", a B24 Liberator bomber from Texas joined by the P38 Lightning, P51 Mustang and B17 Flying Fortress. WWII RAF aircraft included two Hurricanes and a Spitfire. The Gnat and Hunter vintage jets also featured.

Never before have so many warbirds been seen in teh air together at a UK display! A staggering 39 strong mass formation was the culmination of a series of spectacular scenarios, seamlessly interwoven into non-stop action. These included:- Nine Mustangs and three B-25 Mitchells, Ten Spitfires, mosquito, Me 109G, Tigercat debut and four Skyraiders! This video features every aircraft to display plus exciting airbourne and air-to-air sequences. Narration is kept short in favour of hi-fi stereo location sound.
