The RAF was out in force in glorious weather for the Waddington 2006 show. As a former bomber and now reconnaissance base it was appropriate to debut the new Sentinal R1, but also to pay a final tribute to the retiring Canberra. The Royal Naval Air Stations at Yeovilton and Culdrose are the two biggest in the UK and they each out on a massive show to thousands of visitors in 1994.

The brand new Sea Harrier FRS 2 launches from Yeovilton's 'ski jump' and the Italian Tornado does nearly the same from a hard runway! Indeed, the Italians were out in force at these events with rare and spectacular displays by the new Avanti, G222, MB339 and iced by the Frecce Tricolori, arguably the world's best national aerobatic team.

The Shuttleworth Collection is home to over 30 aircraft from the earliest pioneers, through WWI and the record breaking 20's and 30's to the heroic Spitfire of WWII.

But what makes Shuttleworth unique is that most of tehir aircraft actually fly! They're joined by a variety of vintage and modern types at a series of themed flying events at their beautiful and photogenic airfield (Old Warden) in Bedfordshire.

Airshow aficionados have long held Woodford's June show in great regard for both the variety and the rarity of the display items assembled. For hundreds and thousands though, it's been the Vulcan, the Lancaster and, recently, the Flankers of the Russian Test Pilots that have attracted them to Avro's famous historic site near Manchester.
