RAF Valley in Anglesey is home to the historic No 4 Flying Training School, Strike Commands Air to Air Missile Establishment and also search and rescue helicopters.

The show naturally attracted a big contingent of current and historical RAF types and we include these in Part II including the RAF Valley Solo Display Hawk.

In Part I we show the foreign participants including the national aerobatic teams of Italy and Chile and also some rare privately owned ex-military jets, all of which saw service at Valley at some stage.

Military Airshow presents the highlights from 6 of the UK's premier events in a 90 minute feast of spactacular action. A massive range of military metal from 10 countries including Russia appear in an all action style that will bring hours of pleasure to any aircraft enthusiast.

In March 1993 the last airworthy Vulcan XH558 was retired to Bruntingthorpe joining a brace of Lightnings from the same era. Though these aircraft are unable to fly, the prospect of simply hearing them start up and make high speed runs was enough to attract a huge crowd

The airfield, once the home of the giant B47 Stratojet bombers again echoed to the sound of "Big Thunder".

In addition ot the regular airshow scene, Aviation review of this year is a compilation of the highlights from 1993. The maiden flight of the rebuilt Blenheim, the airshow debut at Biggin Hill at the source classic jet flight's Venom and Vampire team, the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Royal Air Force and the last flights of the Lightning, Victor and Vulcan are all covered in this specially commisioned video for FlyPast and AFM magazines.

Military Airshow '92 is a compilation of the very best airshow action featuring a whole range of fighters, bombers, helicopters and transport displayed in the UK in 1992 introduced by David Oliver, editor of Airforces Monthly.

The oldest and newest are featured, so whilst saying goodbye to types like the Phantom, Buccaneer and F-111 we thrill to the sight of Rafale, Gripen, F--17 Stealth and new derivatives like the Harrier GR.7 and F-15E Strike Eagle.

Aviation Action cameras attended 19 events in 1994 and we drew on the very best material in compiling this all action video. We pay tribute to the retiring Buccaneer but welcome theEurofighter with footage of both prototypes including air-to-air. The giant C-17 Globemaster III, the awesome Sukhoi Flanker variants the Su-30 and Su-35, and the Russian M55 (U-2 spyplane equivalent) all make their debuts.

The british weather occasionally wreaks havoc, preventing some displays and curtailing others. So it seemed at RAF Brize Norton and RAF St Mawgan. But in other respects the conditions meant fast jets like the Buccaneer and Tornado created a thrilling spectacle with the vortices and condensation. The clouds even opened dramatically at Brize for several items including home based VC10s and Tristar. St. Mawgan's Nimrods were less lucky, but in appearing in both events the viewer is guaranteed some spectacular footage.

Their 1991 airshow in August was a massive 2 day event followed a few days later by a public display - the first in the UK for 7 years, by the US Air Force Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team. This video devotes a full 16 minutes to their polished performance - both on the ground and in the air - drawing material from their displays at Upper Heyford and Bentwaters too. Superb weather on the airshow days made a perfect backdrop for some spirited displays, the F16 and Buccaneer notably. The RAF's Red Arrows and F111 F's starred.

Airshow aficionados have long held Woodford's June show in great regard for both the variety and the rarity of the display items assembled. For hundreds and thousands though, it's been the Vulcan, the Lancaster and, recently, the Flankers of the Russian Test Pilots that have attracted them to Avro's famous historic site near Manchester.

2 separate tactical attacks by Buccaneers and Jaguars contrast with rare and separate displays by an RAF Hunter T7 and Navy Hunter FGA9. Another rare visitor is an Air Seychelles Boeing 707 and the maritime theme presents an Atlantique, Shackleton and Nimrod.

Strong winds at Valley and rain at Abingdon force us to combine these 2 events but there is plenty of exciting material including a Hawk tactical attack.
