PlanesTV cameras recorded all the action at the Sea Harriers' tribute show at RNAS Yeovilton 16 September 2005. The last public display of the dependable British fighter attracted massive crowds hoping for an action packed day, they were not to be disappointed. The RAF was out in force in glorious weather for the Waddington 2006 show. As a former bomber and now reconnaissance base it was appropriate to debut the new Sentinal R1, but also to pay a final tribute to the retiring Canberra. Navy types, past and present, UK and foreign featured at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton’s 2006 “Air Day”. The RAF supported strongly and the Typhoon appeared for the first time.

It is the Commando Assault finale that Yeovilton is famous for and the Sea Kings, Lynx, Merlins, Harriers, Hawks, Falcons and troops were out in force with explosive effect!

One of the best airshows in the UK and its free! We shot some of our best material thanks to a high vantage point, condensation and vortices around the jets and the rare sight of anti-missile flares being fired not permitted over land.

No fewer than 27 display items including the Red Arrows in glorious blue sky plus the emotional Sunset Ceremony.

Clear air and gorgeous blue skies provided the backdrop for a memorable Leuchars Airshow. Show favourites like the Red Arrows and Harrier shared the billing with some rare European appearances: the 4 ship Danish Baby Blue Team at the quiet end, the Polish Mig 29 with the noise and the Czech Mi-24 “Hind” helicopter gunship with the looks - sheer aggression.

The explosive Battle of Britain re-enactment saw the errant Messerschmitt seen off by no fewer than 5 Spitfires and 2 Hurricanes including R4118, Peter Vacher’s newly restored Battle of Britain veteran. There are interactive cockpit cameras in this Hurricane and the HAC Spitfire.

The RAF Waddington International Airshow is the RAF’s premier public event of the year and despite a poor weather forecast, thousands flocked to the show. Unfortunately the weather caused the cancellation of the second day but not before we’d witnessed some fantastic aerial demonstrations.

This DVD focuses on the flying action and takes footage from the press preview day as well as the Saturday show day. Highlights include the Indian Air Force’s Russian designed Su-30MKI and Ilyushin transport and tanker aircraft.
