Cosford & Biggin Hill
Hi!
I'm going to use this blog as a bit of a production diary for our new airshow DVD projects and any programs we're making for the website.
Our first major projects of the year were Cosford and Biggin Hill. Cosford was a bit on the grey side weather wise - we always hope for good light and some clouds to give contrast in the sky, but the line up made up for it and the show attracted a remarkable 54,000 people. The main edit on the program is done and now that our big weekend at Yeovilton and Waddington is over, Adrian will be progressing with the links and narration before we add the finishing touches for release at the end of July.
I can't remember ever going to a Biggin Hill show where the sun hasn't shone and so it was this year. Sunday was superb and whilst we didn't get our contrasty clouds, I'll settle for a bright sunny day over a dull grey one any day! Like Cosford, the crowds at Biggin were huge and they surely won't have been disappointed with some great displays.
Particular highlights for me filming the show were Michael Carlson's Bleriot display and of course the traditional Spitfire finale flown by John Romain. The Spitfire XVIII solo display was made particularly special for us because we had one of our mini-cams on board to record an in-cockpit view - special thanks to John for that privilege.
Sam's got the Biggin Hill DVD program to a similar stage to Cosford with some final edits to do on the in-cockpit interactive features then I'm onto links and narration. In the meantime I've attached some stills from the Biggin Hill project that might be of interest.
